Begonia Hanging baskets are nearly as popular as our town baskets, and when it comes to colour and vibrancy they really shine. These plants don’t stop flowering through the year, they really are the plant that keeps on giving.

Even better when they start to look a bit overgrown(as all plants do) cut them back give them a good fertilise and they will continue to give you flowers and colour again. They are hardy and will grow in full sun or part shade positions making them versatile.

🍑 Peach Tart 🍑

4 -5 Ripe Peaches (Homegrown is best) remove seed and cut into thin wedges.
2 tlb butter
55g brown sugar
1 tlb flour
Cinnamon
Puff Pastry- thawed

- Preheat oven 200 degrees
- Spread softened butted on a round shallow pie dish
- Place peach wedges in pie dish, starting to layer from the outside in and slightly overlapping
- Sprinkle with cinnamon, to taste
- Sprinkle flour evenly over the peaches (this will help absorb moisture and avoid a soggy crust)

- prepare puff pastry, cut out a circle slightly larger then the pie dish
- Place puff pastry on top of the peaches, tucking the edges carefully into the dish. No need to cut slits into the dough

- Bake tart in prepared oven for 23 minutes or until crispy and deep golden brown
- Remove from oven, place a serving plate (larger than the pie dish) on top of the pastry and carefully turn the dish over. The pastry will end up as the base and you should have caramelised peaches as the filling.
- Serve warmed with vanilla ice cream and garnish with pistachios

Did you know you can grow tropical stone fruit on the tablelands and even better we will be grafting our own stock onsite again this year.

Come in and have a chat, we are more than happy to help you with your fruit trees

Mulch, Mulch, Mulch. We can’t say it enough!!

Looking for soil improvement - then mulch is your friend
Looking to retain moisture in the soil - Mulch will help with that
Looking to use less synthetic fertiliser - Mulch encourages good microbe growth
Looking for weed suppression - A good thick layer of mulch

There are so many choices to mulch with out there, but remember to choose wisely.
